Grundig Software Update Download3/9/2021
The receiver is now on Manual in the Update Menu, and I hope that when the iPlayer update is transmitted, itll stay on-air and available for more than just a few days. Well see. Heres hoping. Id be intrigued to know how much memory is available in these Harvard receivers to buffer the iPlayer.Welcome to the Digital Spy forums.
Grundig Software Manual In TheIf youd like to join in, please sign in or register. I cannot find any information regarding this - does anyone know what the update contains please Software version is showing as 1.7.48 but I do not remember what it was yesterday Many thanks. I didnt realise just how close all the different boxes are under the bonnet. Likewise SD boxes are all the same Alba ones, although there is a second generation (even lower spec) SD box that replaces the original one. I have had no update yet and am still on software 1.6.47. So hopefully wont get one. I thought that I read here on DS that they have since stopped broadcasting the update. If that is correct, then you should be fine till the next update. I dont use my Gufsat HD01 very often, just occasionally when there is something I really want to watch while my wife is watching something different. My set up is in the attic conversion and I just happened to spot this thread before switching on my Grundig last night. My box is set to receive updates automatically and upon switching on, nothing appeared to be wrong, so I checked the software version number; its still on 1.6.47, so it would certainly appear that the troublesome update is no longer being offered. Grundig Software Manual Update AndIm now switching my box to manual update and Ill continue to check these forums before updating in future. It looks like you shouldnt worry: Ive not had any problems and it does not look like anyone so far has reported problems with this update specifically on Grundig. Of course, your mileage may vary and I wouldnt want to carry any responsibility personally. The problem is with the 1.7.48 software which puts some boxes into a cyclical onoff state. It seems that a new software is due to be transmitted on 16th November and that should fix the problem. Came home to version 1.8.1. I assume this is the fix that was due a couple of weeks ago for those having problems. This latest version was only transmitted for a few days because they found that boxes with old firmware (older than 1.4.44 I think) couldnt download it. Therefore my understanding is that the problem boxes wouldnt have been able to download it, plus some of the boxes which had replaced faulty boxes couldnt download it either. I have one of the Problem Boxes ( although its Bush branded, not Grundig, but I believe theyre supposedly identical internally, so I thought you might be interested ) and the 1.8.1 update fixed mine, thankfully, just as I was in the process of contacting Customer Services and anticipating a probable replacement. The receiver (16 months old ) is now once again behaving impeccably. My fingers remain crossed that this will continue to be the case, although I am feeling a little trepidatious about the future download to enable BBC iPlayer capability.
